Super promotional simcards flooding market

With only 30,000 dong, customers are able to make free call inside the network in total duration of less than 10 minutes within the whole month.
The promotion package is paid much attention by many users. But as buying this kind of package, consumers have to accept “dead” simcards at any time [simcards may stop to work due to too low quality].

This simcard was launched in the latest program of Viettel, the military-run telecommunication company, which was applied in western provinces.

These simcards had been registered previously and then transferred to the provinces/cities in the provinces where the promotion policies were not applied.

Price of such a super promotional simcard, issued by Viettel, was 300,000 dong at agents. Buyers will be able to use internal calls [inside the network] free of charge in one year.

However, as the market went down, the promotional call duration of these simcards was shortened and the agents and shop owners also offloaded a huge volume of these simcards at 130,000-195,000 dong each depending on kind of simcards.

A simcard shop owner said, along with promotional packages such as 10 minutes free of charge for internal calls, the traders also are selling cheap simcards of VinaPhone and Viettel.

These simcards were offered to those who bought iPhone 4 smart phones but the buyers did not need to use simcards and sold to shops.

These simcards are sold at 150,000-200,000 dong each by shop owners, enabling subscribers to conduct calls within 1-2 years with the promotion amount of 2.4 million dong. When the market some times was gloomy, the package was reduced to around 100,000 dong only.

The shops are avoiding promotional policies of the service providers to attract customers. Therefore, as buying the super simcards, buyers some times have to accept “gambling” because the simcards rarely may be blocked.

Representatives of telecom companies told VnExpress.net admitted, their promotional programmes have been abused by agents.

For example, telecom firms offered good packages for students, but agents used a multifunctional simcard to activate these promotional simcards and sold to the market. So there was the phenomenon that old people also could use simcards of students.

And when the firms launched promotional policies for 2-way blocked subscribers by presenting 10,000 dong per month, agents also activated and pushed extra accounts to the huge amount to sell in the market.

Generally, agents know the way to dig “money” from promotional policies of networks. Every time, telecommunication companies have to check and fill “the gap”, a VinaPhone official shared.

Both and Viettel said that these promotional simcards for iPhone buyers might be flowing from internal sources to the market. But, these simcards were registered by names of iPhone buyers who may suffer arising risks. – Vietbiz24
