Steel price hits 16m dong per tonne

Steel enterprises in the southern area raised steel price about 200,000 to 300,000 dong per tonne for bills at mid of September, according to a source from the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA).

The price would be round 15.42 to 15.64 million dong per tonne, surpassing top price on fever of steel price on March. The retail price is posted at 15.8 to 15.85 million dong per tonne, a 200,000 dong higher than factory cost of producers.

Crude steel may stand still lower than $600 per tonne, decreasing by $20 to $30 over the previous month, said VSA. However, steel producers have reserved about 520,000 tonnes of crude steel for domestic demand in next quarter.
