Steel price continues declining by 200,000d per tonne

The retail steel price in the markets continued dropping by 200,000 dong per tonne in comparison with that of late June 2010 to 12.4-12.45 million dong per tonne, due to weak purchasing power.

According to the retail shops, although there was a sharp decrease in steel price of about 3 million dong per tonne against the peak-time of mid April, the steel sales volume was estimated to decline by 30-40 percent.

Meanwhile, some steel producers stated that they were considering adjusting the steel price in the first week of July to push up the purchasing power and releasing the stockpiled products.
