South Korea visitors to Vietnam +31.1% to 289,190 in Jan-July

Vietnam welcomed 289,190 South Korean holidaymakers in the first seven months of 2010, up 31.1% from a year earlier.

In July, the Southeast Asia country received 36,827 tourists from the East Asian nation, up 3.9% on month and 54% on year, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) said on its website on August 19.

Vietnam and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation in Seoul early this year under which the former will send more delegations and work closely with agencies of the latter to boost tourism in the near future.

South Korea, China and Cambodia remain the largest markets of Vietnam. Annually, the country receives 400,000 Korean tourists.
