SJC sells 28,000 taels of gold in last three days

On August 25, Saigon Jewelry JSC (SJC) sold a huge volume of up to 10,000 taels of gold while buying only 30-40 taels of gold, the local newswire Tuoi Tre (Youth) quoted Nguyen Cong Tuong, SJC’s deputy head of sale department, as saying.
The newspaper said on August 25, when the local gold price dropped nearly 2.7 million dong per tael from August 24, the company’s selling volume was still higher than the buying volume.

Tuong said on August 25, SJC continued to sell a huge volume of up to 10,000 taels of gold while it bought only 30-40 taels of gold. Totally in three days, the SJC sold about 28,000 taels of gold.

As estimated, the total selling volume of gold traders in past three days reached about four tonnes (over 100,000 taels of gold).
