Six-month socio-economic situation in Tay Bac under review

Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong chaired a conference in Hanoi on July 12 to review and predict the socio-economic status of northwestern region in 2010.

Mr Trong spoke highly of its efforts to create the best possible conditions for socio-economic development at grassroots level.

The northwestern region still has 43 poor districts out of the total number of 62 in the whole country. So, all sectors particularly economic groups should provide financial support to help improve local people’s living standards and focus on developing education and providing vocational training for young people as well as encouraging local people to engage in development projects, Mr Trong said.

Deputy PM Trong asked the steering committee to successfully organise the Party congresses at all levels and build a programme to implement congress resolutions.
