Site clearance starts for Ke Ga Port

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has allowed the People’s Committee of central Binh Thuan Province to start site clearance for the construction of the Ke Ga deep-water port.

The Ke Ga Port will be built in the Tan Thanh Commune of the Ham Thuan Nam District and will cover 366ha as well as 2km of coastline.

Construction will be divided into 4 phases, port capacity set to reach 3.5 million tonnes per year following first phase development. Total port capacity is set to reach 35 million tonnes per year upon construction completion in 2012. – VNS
