Singapore firms seek business openings

A delegation of 22 businesses from the Singaporean Manufacturers Association held one-on-one meetings with Vietnamese enterprises on Thursday, looking of partnership opportunities and ways to expand trade co-operation between the two countries.

The Singaporean firms are mainly involved in engineering, seafood, steel machinery, information and communication technology, security products and plastics industries.

Singapore is one of the biggest investors in Viet Nam, ranking fifth out of a total of 85. As of 2009, Singapore had 776 investment projects worth more than US$17 billion.
