Siemens to equip Asia’s largest single cement production line

The Siemens company will supply electrical and automation equipment for a new production line at the Cong Thanh Cement Plant.  The plant is located in Thanh Hoa Province.

Siemens will supply the complete range of its SICEMENT product portfolio including electrical equipment and automation systems for the new line. The scope of supply also includes the major part of the process instrumentation as well as the analyzers and special instrumentation, the company said in a press release.

The electrical equipment comprises the cabling for the medium and low-voltage distribution systems, the power factor compensation system, transformers, the low-voltage distribution panels with intelligent MCCs (motor control centers) and variable speed drives.

Siemens will also responsible for the design and engineering of the electrical equipment, including supervision of installation and commissioning as well as on-site training of the operating personnel.

“With a capacity of 12,000 tons of clinker per day, the new production line is the largest single cement production line in Asia to date and once in full operation by 2011 will turn the Cong Thanh Cement Plant into a major additional production facility for Vietnam’s cement industry,” said Erdal Elver, President and CEO of Siemens Vietnam.
