Sheraton – first green hotel in Vietnam

On July 14, TUV Rheinland – an independent safety inspection association- granted an ISO 14001:2004 certification for environmental management system to Sheraton-Hanoi Hotel.

The Sheraton-Hanoi is the first hotel in Vietnam to be provided with this certification, which has helped it to become a “green” destination for tourists coming to Hanoi to observe the 1000th anniversary of the capital city.

Currently, only seven hotels in the world have received the ISO 14001:2004 certification from TUV Rheinland.

Over the past few years, the hotel’s management board has taken effective measures to protect the surrounding environment sustainably by reducing pollution and applying the “3R” (reduce, reuse and recycle) method to reduce the use of energy and natural resources, control waste and protect water resources.

Inaugurated in 2004, the five-star 299-room Sharaton-Hanoi hotel near West Lake, now covers an area of 1380 m2.
