Seminar discusses int’l economic cooperation in ASEAN community

Delegates from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam gathered in Hanoi on July 25 to discuss international economic integration for sustainable development in the region and the world.

The event is part of a cooperative project between the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Germany’s Hanns Seidel Fund to support Vietnam and other countries in the region in their international economic integration.

At the seminar, senior officials and delegates from Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar shared experiences and valuable lessons on planning and implementing international economic integration policies for sustainable development. The delegates also agreed to take full advantage of all opportunities to overcome the challenges of international economic integration.

They emphasized that the four countries should strengthen cooperation in the region and sub-region. Representatives from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and international organisations highlighted Vietnam’s initiative in organizing the seminar.

Delegates said that the seminar has also helped establish an effective and practical network for sharing international economic integration experiences among Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. – VOV
