Second turbine of Da Dang 2 hydropower plant starts operation

The Southern Region Hydropower Joint Stock Co officially started operation of the second turbine of Da Dang 2 hydropower plant from October 24, 2010.

The two-turbine Da Dang 2 hydropower plant was built on Da Dang River, in two districts of Lam Ha and Duc Trong, Lam Dong province with total designed capacity of 34 MW. The hydropower plant was expected to produce annual electricity output of 152 million KWh.

This is the second hydropower plant that has been put into operation, after Dasiat hydropower plant in Bao Lam Dist, Lam Dong province with designed capacity of 13.5MW. The plant’s annual production output was estimated at 57.74 million KWh. That hydropower plant joined the national grid in 2010 with average power output of 1.1 million Kwh per day. – TBKTVN
