Seafood trade fair attracts more than 150 businesses

More than 150 businesses are showcasing their products and services at the Vietnam Seafood Trade Fair opening on April 24 in Can Tho city in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

During the fair, there will be trading activities like signing ceremonies for commercial contracts and investment cooperation between Vietnamese businesses and their foreign counterparts.

The “Outstanding Vietnamese Seafood Enterprise” award will be granted to 10 businesses that have declared the quality standards for their products, applied international quality management systems and advanced technologies effectively, and shown excellence in overcoming difficulties.

Another award will be granted to five outstanding fishermen, five farmers and five scientists for their contributions to the development of the Vietnamese fisheries sector.

There is also a seafood decoration contest to raise awareness of protecting the environment and a singing contest to praise the cultural characteristics of the southern people who produce the country’s unique seafood products.

The fair is part of the first Vietnam Seafood Festival which is taking place in Can Tho.
