In 2011-2012, SCIC is planning to divest capital in 420 enterprises, including 30 listed firms (or a half of listed shares in its investment portfolio).
In detail, SCIC will offload capital in small firms specializing in seafood, agriculture materials and pharmaceutical. The value of these shares in SCIC’s portfolio is also not high.
This capital divestment is said to help SCIC better manage its portfolio and at the same time have more capital to seek new investment opportunities. This is also chance for new investors to join.
Currently, SCIC offloaded capital in Faquimex Ben Tre (FBT) and intends to sell additional stake in Ca Mau Export Import and Seafood Co-Camimex (CMX) for Betexco Nam Long. Some other shares in SCIC’s capital divestment plan are AGF, DBC, HAI, DQC, RAL, SSC, VFR, and DCL.
