South Korea’s Keangnam Enterprises Company on August 1 started building two bidding packages of A4 and A5 totaling VND3.61 trillion (US$189 million) in Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway project.

The packages are designed to build a 70.9-km section running through Cam Khe and Ha Hoa districts of Phu Tho province and Tran Yen and Van Yen districts of Yen Bai province.

Work on the sub-projects is scheduled for completion within three years, the Vietnam News Agency said Monday, adding that Keangnam won the contract in March.

The 264-km highway, which will go through Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Yen Bai and Lao Cai, is expected to boost socio-economic development of the north western region.
