Rubber Exports Earn Nearly US$2 Billion

Vietnam exported 454,000 tonnes of rubber in the first eight months of the year, earning US$1,959 billion, according to the Vietnam Rubber Association.

On average rubber was sold at US$4,315 per tonne, up by 58 percent from a year earlier.

In August alone, 85,000 tonnes of rubber worth US$356 million were exported at the price of US$4,190 per tonne.

The demand for rubber is likely to rise until the end of 2011, announced the Vietnam Rubber Association.
