Romania takes interest in Vietnam’s oil and gas
Romanian Trade and Business Environment Co-ordinator for Asia, Valentin Brebenel, confirmed Romania’s interest in widening the oil and gas market at a Vietnam-Romania business forum in Hanoi on November 24.
Mr. Brebenel gave a statement that the oil and gas business with Vietnam was key to the two countries developing trade relations.
He also said Romania is ready to receive any proposal relating to such a field, including building oil refineries and cooperating to exploit more oil and gas in foreign countries. He expressed his hope that both sides will reach an investment of over US$100 million in this field.
Mr. Brebenel noted that apart from the oil and gas field, Romanian businesses wanted to cooperate with Vietnamese businesses in other areas, including ball bearings and new medicine production, as well as construction of seaports for fishing.
He highly appreciated Vietnam’s role as ASEAN chairman in 2010 and affirmed Vietnam is considered an important partner in the ASEAN region. He said Romania wanted to development cooperative relations with other partners in the region-including Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar-through Vietnam. – VOV
