Q2 rice exports to top 2m tonnes

The Viet Nam Food Association expects the export volume of rice in Q2 to reach 2 million tonnes, an increase of 150,000 tonnes against Q1 due to increasing orders from the Philippines and countries in Africa and the Middle East.

Rice businesses have received orders for 1.6 million tonnes.

In Q1, 1.8 million tonnes of rice were exported, worth US$884 million, an increase of 42 percent in volume and 46 percent in value against the same period last year.
