PVEP to explore and exploit petroleum in Peru

PetroVietnam Exploration and Production Corp (PVEP) and Burlington Resources Peru Limited Co, a member of ConocoPhilipes Group have recently signed an agreement in Lima, capital of the Republic of Peru, whereby Burlington Resources Peru Limited Co will hand over its whole stake at Lot 39 Peru for PVEP.
This is the PVEP’s third oil and gas exploration project in this South American country.

The Lot 39 in Maranon sediment basin covers a site of 8,868 square kilometers in Maynas province, Peru. The signing of this agreement is important in making the investment expansion strategy for exploration and exploitation of oil and gas in foreign country of PVEP in particular and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam-PVN) in general, especially in the key region of South America, contributing to ensuring the national energy security and strengthening the cooperation tie between Vietnam and the Republic of Peru. – Vietbiz24
