Precious metals, gems’ export turnover doubles in June

Precious metal, gem export turnover was estimated at $806.2 million in June, up 233% from May but down 20.4% on year, according to statistics from Vietnam’s General Customs.

In the first six months of the year, export turnover of precious metala and gems was estimated at $1.2 billion, down 20.4% on year, yet exceeding 20.4% compared to the year-target, the General Customs‘data showed.

The surge in export turnover of precious metal and gems helped to narrow the country’s trade deficit in June to $160million, down 88.7% from May.

Meanwhile, precious metal and gems’ import turnover was estimated at only $20 million in June, down 1.6% from May; and $425.5million, up 39.1% on year. – Stoxplus.com
