Power price to be decided by market from June

PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Friday signed a Decision No. 24/QĐ-TTg on the adjustment of power prices following the market-based rule.

Under the decision, the power prices will only be adjusted when the input parameters, including the prices of fuels and foreign exchange rate, fluctuate.

The adjustment of power prices can only be made at least three months after the previous one.

If necessary, the State will use the power price stabilization fund and other proper measures to stabilizing the power price, with the aim to mitigate the negative impacts of such price hike on the country’s macro-economy and social welfare, according to the decision. – VIR
