PM approves development strategy for fishing industry

The Prime Minister has approved the Viet Nam fishing industry strategy on development that will be completed by 2020.

The plan is worth an estimated VND57.4 trillion (US$2.9 billion), according to Decision 1690/QD-TTg.

Under the plan, the fishing industry will be industrialised and developed to increase production volume, improve quality, and increase the industry’s competitiveness.

The plan aims to improve fisherman’s living standards, protect the country’s environment and secure the country’s coastline. – VNS
