Plastic products counted for 1.7pct of total import value in Jan-July
The import value of plastic products in July was estimated at $125.98 million, a slight decrease of 1.7 percent against the previous month, but up 15.17 percent year-on-year. Therefore, the country’s accumulative import of plastic products in Jan-July was $777.28 million, accounting for 1.7 percent of the total import value and up 38.29 percent year-on-year.
China and Japan were the two leading suppliers of plastic products for Vietnam.
Vietnam’s total import value of plastic products from Japanese markets in July 2010 was estimated at about $39.03 million, increasing by 9.15 percent against the previous month, while the accumulative import in the first seven months reached $190.26 million, accounting for 24.48 percent of total import and up 54.12 percent year-on-year.
To be ranked at the second place was China with July import value of plastic products of $31.85 million, a decline of 3.55 percent against the previous month, but up 46.85 percent year-on-year. The progressive import value of plastic products in Jan-July was estimated at $190.26 million, equivalent to 24.48 percent of the total, and increasing by 54.12 percent against that of the first seven months of 2009.
