Phu Tho province ready for Hung King Festival

The anniversary of the Hung kings’ death will open on April 7th with the participation of several provinces nationwide, including Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh, Nam Dinh, Quang Ngai and Dong Thap province, representing the three regions of the country.

Different cultural activities will take place in Phu Tho province. Relevant agencies and people in the province are giving their best efforts for the special festival. The province has worked hard to have facilities and activities ready in order to successfully organise this year’s festival to commemorate the nation’s legendary founders, the Hung Kings.

The festival is expected to draw the participation of five to six million people.

The annual festival to commemorate the anniversary of the death of the Hung Kings was recognised as a national event in 2007.

Bronze drums, called “Bronze Drums – Resounding of the Ancestral Land”, have been presented to the Hung Temple National Historical Relic in Phu Tho province, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and President Ho Chi Minh relic site at the Presidential Palace.

A ceremony was held on April 2 in Phu Tho to offer the biggest bronze drum to the Upper Temple in the Hung Temple National Historic Relic.
