Phu Bai Airport re-opens after repairs

Phu Bai International Airport officially re-opens on June 14 after halting operations for a month during runway upgrades, said Deputy Head of Thua Thien Hue People’s Committee Ngo Hoa.
The upgrades of the runway, aimed to ensure the safety of flights, was completely in sync with the progress, according to the director of Phu Bai Airport Do Chi Thanh.

The airport plans to upgrade its terminals to receive roughly 4,000 passengers per hour and around 200,000 tonnes of goods per year over the next 20 years. The airport project will occupy the area of 527 ha, worth nearly 13 trillion VND ($620 million). – VIR
