PetroVietnam investment conference in Seoul
PetroVietnam, in coordination with the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra), organised an investment promotion conference entitled “Investment opportunities with PetroVietnam†in Seoul from November 9-11.
The conference took place under the sponsorship of the Korean Ministry of Knowledge Economy and the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea.
Present at the conference were Deputy Minister of Knowledge Economy, Park Young Jun, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Le Duong Quang, and Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK, Tran Trong Toan, as well as representatives from leading Korean businesses, such as KNOC, SK Group, Posco, Hyundai, Samsung, Daewoo and Lotte.
The conference introduced 36 PetroVietnam projects worth US$25.5 billion in electricity generation, seaport, real estate, industrial zones, infrastructure, and oil and gas. They included key national projects, such as the Dung Quat Oil Refinery Factory, the Long Son Oil Refinery Factory, the Ca Mau Fertiliser Factory, the Vung Ang Thermo-electric project 1, and Thai Binh 2, Long Phu 1, Quang Trach 1 and Song Hau 1 thermo-electric projects.
Representatives said this was the key to PetroVietnam’s promotion programme with an aim of attracting more foreign capital for new projects as well as promoting its image on international market.
The PetroVietnam delegation to the RoK, led by its CEO Dinh La Thang, held bilateral meetings with 100 Korean businesses and organizations to discuss investment and co-operative opportunities.
The PetroVietnam leader also met with Deputy Minister of Knowledge Economy, Park Young Jun, the Kotra president and leaders of SK Energy, KNOC, Huyndai, Daewoo, Lotte, Posco and Doosan.
On the occasion, PetroVietnam plans to sign co-operative agreements with Korean partners, including Kotra, Posco, Shinhan Bank, SK Engineering & Construction, Samsung C&T and Samsung Engineering. – VOV
