Petrol prices likely to decrease by VND300/L

The domestic petrol prices are likely to drop by VND300/liter in the coming time due to lower world prices of gasoline, the state-run online newspaper Tuoitre reported on September 13, citing the local gasoline importers.

The domestic petrol firms appear to make a profit of VND500/liter, which calculated following the formulas of the Ministry of Finance. Besides, the retail petrol agencies have been offered a discount of VND900/liter.

The petrol dealer quoted gasoline A92 average price over the past 30 days of $79.4 a barrel, down $4 from the beginning of August.

However, Petrolimex, Vietnam’s biggest petrol dealer told Tuoitre that a profit of VND500/liter is still not enough to cut the retail prices of gasoline. Other petrol firms will hold the current the gasoline prices until Petrolimex decreases its prices. – Stoxplus.com
