Pepper prices double

The price of pepper in Binh Phuoc province has risen to VND70,000-75,000 per kilogram, double the price of the year’s first crop.

However, many pepper growers do not have any stock to sell as farmers often sold their produce before harvest-time when pepper prices begin to go up from VND32,000 per kilogram to VND40,000-45,000 per kilogram.

According to the Vietnam Pepper Association, the price of pepper in some areas has hit VND80,000 per kilogram, a four-year record high.
