Over VND2,600 billion invested in construction of Thanh Hoa airport

Thanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee and Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam have announced the plan for the construction of the Thanh Hoa airport until 2020, with a vision to 2030.

The airport will be built in Hai Ninh commune, Tinh Gia district, 30km away from Thanh Hoa City. The total investment capital is planned to reach more than VND2,600 billion.

As scheduled, in the first phase, the airport will open flight routes from Thanh Hoa to Gia Lam, Cat Bi, Da Nang, Tan Son Nhat, with 250,000 arrivals and 10,000 tonnes of cargos every year.

After 2020, other flights to Buon Ma Thuot, Da Lat and Nha Trang may be opened and flights to foreign destinations may carry 1 million passengers and 20,000 tonnes of cargos every year. – VOV
