One million tonnes of rice to be stockpiled

The Prime Minister has requested businesses to buy 1 million tonnes of rice to keep in reserve over summer-autumn in 2010.

The rice must be purchased from July 15 to September 15, according to a decision signed by the PM.

The PM has assigned this task to the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Vietnam Food Association.

Under the decision, businesses will enjoy interest free loans to buy rice from July 15 to November 15.
