One million tonnes of rice purchased for temporary storage

Until March 29, businesses had completed the purchase of one million tonnes of rice for temporary storage, according to the Vietnam Food Association.

500,000 more tonnes of rice will be purchased for the same purpose in the second phase.

According to the businesses which are purchasing unhusked rice, the price of the item of goods is on slightly downward trend at around VND 4.100 – 4.400 a kilogram. In addition to purchasing rice for temporary storage, businesses have exported around 1.1 million tonnes of rice so far.
