Nov 16: Vietnam central bank keeps dollar exchange at vnd20,803 for 17 days

Vietnam’s central bank set the U.S. dollar’s exchange rate at VND20,803 today, unchanged from October 28, after adjusting it for 14 times in October.

Commercial banks are allowed to apply effective exchange rate +-1% from the official exchange rate set by the central bank, accordingly, the ceiling price for a dollar today was VND21,011.

Commercial banks also kept their dollar prices quote unchanged, selling dollar at the ceiling VND21,011 and buying dollar at VND20,990- 21,006.

In the free market the dollar prices were kept stables for a week. A gold shop in Hanoi quoted dollar exchange rate at VND21,340-21,400 for bid and ask, respectively this morning.
