Nov 10: Vietnam gold falls to vnd46.1mln/taael, dollar stable
Vietnam gold fell to VND 46.10million/tael this morning following global market fall yesterday, while local dollar prices were still kept at 20,803 dong, unchanged from October 28.
SJC Hanoi quoted at VND45.850 million/tael for bid, and VND46.070 million/tael for bid and ask, respectively as of 9: 32 Hanoi time.
SJC Ho Chi Minh listed at VND45.850-46.050 million/tael for bid and ask, respectively.
Sacombank-SBJ gold prices were listed at VND45.850-VND46.100million/tael for bid and ask, respectively.
Rong Thang Long gold, a product of Bao Tin Minh Chau company,was trading at VND45.800 million/tael and VND46.200 million/tael for bid and ask, respectively.
Global Markets: Gold Settles Down Both in New York And Asia Trades
In New York trade last night, gold was down to settle at $1,791 an ounce on selling pressure. Spot gold dropped 0.6 % to $1,773.99 an ounce, bullion fell around 0.5 %.
U.S. gold futures for December delivery settled down $7.60 at $1,791.60 an ounce, trading volume increased.
In Asia trade this morning, Kitco quoted spot gold at $1757.40-1758.40/ounce for bid and ask, respectively by 9:41 am.
Investors still sought safety in the fears of the Euro zone debt crisis.
Local Dollar Stable
Vietnam’s central bank kept dollar midpoint rate unchanged at VND20,803 from Oct 28.
Commercial banks also kept their dollar prices quote unchanged, selling dollar at the ceiling VND21,011 and buying dollar at VND20,990- 21,006.
In the free market, the dollar exchange rate was quoted at VND21,320-21,400 for bid and ask, respectively this morning, increasing VND20 bid and VND50 for ask from yesterday close.
