Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway facing difficulties

Vietnam Expressway Corp (VEC) reported that the Noi Bai-Lao Cai expressway project was facing financial difficulties because of lack of 448 billion dong in corresponding capital.
Although 2 trillion dong of the project bonds were issued under the Ministry of Finance’s guarantee, but the project still is short of 448 billion dong.

Actualized work of the project in Jan-July (2011) reached 907 billion dong and the disbursed capital volume was nearly 840 billion dong, fulfilling 22.4% of the year’s plan. Since the beginning of the project, actualized workload has gained 4.133 trillion dong and 5.195 trillion dong has been disbursed, reaching 26% of total investment capital. – Vietbiz24
