Nine nations dominate 80 pct of Vietnam’s total foreign trade
The foreign trade between nine partners namely ASEAN, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, EU, US and Canada with Vietnam has performed well with a rapid growth.
These partners dominate up to 80% of Vietnam’s total foreign trade value, according to the government website.
This statement was written in “Vietnam Cooperation Index 1995-2009” published on March 31 by National Committee for International Economic Cooperation in Hanoi.
The report showed assessment on cooperation in investment, trade, education and development support. In which, the investment has not development appropriately with the country’s potential, however US’s investment into Vietnam signaled specified growth during the part years, lifting the cooperation index between US and Vietnam to grow 20 times against 1995.
Regarding education, Australia was the top option for Vietnamese people who want to study overseas. As for tourism, Vietnam’s relationship with ASEAN countries still accounted for a majority proportion. Meanwhile Japan continues being the largest ODA donor for Vietnam.
The reported also cited statistics indicating that the 2008 economic crisis affected strongly to trade but did not cause impact on educational cooperation and development donation for Vietnam.
