Nam Con Son gas pipeline supplies 33B cbm of natural gas so far

Nam Con Son gas pipeline in southern Vietnam has supplied a total of 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas to the market so far, said Nam Con Son Gas Pipeline Company (NCSP).

The company made the announcement at its recent 10th establishment anniversary ceremony when it attributed that the gas volume meets between 30% and 35% of the national fuel demand for power generation.

Addition to gas supply for power plants in the southern provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Dong Nai, NCSP has provided over two million cubic meters of condensate that is used for fuel gasoline production.

With increasing gas supply, the firm had helped save over $200 million worth of diesel oil import for power production between 2008 and 2009.

The pipeline’s capacity has surpassed over 1.4 billion cubic meters so far this year, equivalent to $1.28 billion, completing the full-year target two months ahead of schedule.

The 400-km pipeline Nam Con Son gas pipeline off Vietnam’s southern coast is capable of transporting 20 million cubic meters of gas per day. It is invested by the state-owned Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) with a 51% stake, Britain’s BP (32.27%), and the U.S.’s ConocoPhillips (16.33%). – VCCI
