More than 50 million Vietnamese enjoy health insurance

By June this year, the number of people taking part in the health insurance service increased to 50,258,948, up by more than 5.5 million people compared to the third quarter last year.

This was announced at a conference held in Hanoi on August 3 by Vietnam’s Social Insurance Agency.

The figure includes 8,268,190 workers, 15,190,262 disadvantaged people, 6,276,646 social policy beneficiaries, 10,769,717 students and pupils and 7,478,665 children under six years old.

In the first half of this year, almost 44.8 million were provided with healthcare services at a total cost of VND8,500 billion, paid off by the health insurance sector. – VOV
