More than 3,000 iPhones 4 sold out

More than 3,000 iPhone 4 imported by VinaPhone and Viettel a few days ago have been sold out. The network operators are planning to import additional 4,000 ones for the next shipment.

Information from VinaPhone said that 1,500 iPhone 4 imported two days ago have been sold out. Currently, the total number of customers registering to buy iPhone is up to thousands of people in provinces and cities nationwide, However, the network operator can not meet the demand due to lack of goods. VinaPhone is finalizing the procedures to import 1,500-2,000 units more in coming time.

The military-run telecommunication firm, Viettel, also gave the similar information. Viettel has made the announcement to each customer in the registering list to receive iPhone 4 in the next shipment with a total volume of about 2,000 handsets.

Since June 2010 so far, VinePhone has provided to the market about 19,000 iPhone 3G-3GS and iPhone 4 and Viettel has also offered the similar volume so far.

Previously, both Viettel and VinaPhone announced to raise the selling price for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 due to the fluctuation of foreign currencies. Of which, the rise of Viettel was 250,000-400,000 dong per unit while VinaPhone adjusted up by 500,000-700,000 dong per unit. The fluctuation of dong/US dollar forex rate also pushed up the price of iPhone 4 in the free market to nearly 22 million dong per unit, the international version, 32GB type.

A week later, the price of iPhone 4 was adjusted down to 17.9 million dong for 16GB type and 21.7 million dong for the 32GB international version. However, in comparison to the price at the official iPhone 4 distributor, the selling price in the free market is still higher by two million dong per unit. – Vietbiz24
