Mekong Delta set to boost tra fish exports

In 2011, the Mekong Delta expects to earn US$1.55 billion in tra fish export earnings, an increase of US$150 million over the previous year.

Dong Thap, An Giang, Ben Tre, Can Tho and other provinces plan to increase the acreages of water surface of 6,000-6,300 hectares, up 600 – 800 hectares compared to last year, with a projected output of 1.3 million tonnes, haft of which will be exported.

They will focus on raising tra fish in large areas of over 10 hectares to avoid environmental pollution, and improving business ties between farmers and processing factories. – VOV
