Manufacturing tools on display at exhibition

The latest global manufacturing solutions and machine-tool technologies are on display at the 7th Viet Nam International Precision Engineering, Machine Tools and Metalworking Exhibition which opened in HCM City yesterday.

Speaking at the opening, Bui Thi Thuc Anh, director of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Exhibition Service Ltd Co, said the event featured 342 exhibitors — a 46 per cent increase — from 23 countries and territories.

Of them, 83 per cent are foreign, including those from Germany, Singapore, Italy, South Korea, Taiwan, the US, Japan, and Thailand.

There are some renowned international names like AMADA, Blum, Yamazen, TRUMPF, Nikon, Bystronic and Makino.

Doan Duy Khuong, deputy chairman of the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “The exhibition will help domestic businesses promote their products and build new partnerships to improve their competitiveness.”

Stephen Tan, director of the Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd, said this year the very latest and best metal cutting, metal forming, testing and measurement, and industrial tools and components would be on display unlike past years when just modern technologies were showcased.

Two seminars on engineering maintenance and production and waste management will be held today and tomorrow before the exhibition closes on Friday.

MTA Viet Nam 2010 is being held at the Sai Gon Exhibition and Convention Centre by the VCCI Exhibition Service Ltd Co in collaboration with the Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd with support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade. — VNS
