To continue growing in 2011 and years after, Damco is investing in an additional logistics centre sized over 26,000 square metres in Tan Van, Dong Nai province, expecting to put it into operation early next year.
Agility Logistics has 17 years experience in providing logistics services in Vietnam. According to Mike Gildea, general director of Agility Logistics in South East Asia region, the company would build additional warehouses in Vietnam next year, to exploit opportunities in import and export transporting.
In addition to the main office in HCM City, Agility Logistics has officially opened two new branches in Hanoi and Vung Tau.
In Hanoi, customers can choose among various types of services including air transportation, transit services, package services, or transportation across the border, which support high-tech industries, retail and apparel sectors.
In the new office in Vung Tau, customers will have access to high-tech services and petroleum and gas activities. Agility Logistics supports petroleum industry through commercial, customs procedure management, clearance regulations, materials management, rig management and other solutions related to supply chain.
Gildea said that this development supports the expansion plan of the company in Vietnam, and is a step to establish logistics network throughout the county.
According to assessment of a representative of Ministry of Industry and Trade, only about 20 percent of about 900 companies exploiting logistics-related services are joint ventures between foreign companies and local companies. However, these joint ventures hold about 80 percent of market shares.
