Local refinery put on market 2.63 million tonnes of products

The country’s first oil refinery plant, Dung Quat, has so far processed over 3.3 million tonnes of crude poil and sold 2.63 million tonnes of products on the market.

According to the main contractor Technip Consortium (TPC), by the end of April, the plant basically ran at its full capacity. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, head of the State steering committee on national key oil and gas projects, has agreed in principle on the plant’s transfer on certain conditions.

The Binh Son Refinery and Petrochemical Company Ltd, (BRS), is now ready for receiving the plant and ensures its safe and stable operation after hand-over work completes.

Together with test runs and hand-over preparations, the refinery’s investor, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, has completed research on future expansion to raise its capacity from 6.5 million tonnes to 10 million tonnes per year.
