Largest electricity transformer station put into operation

The National Power Transmission Corp (NPT) announced to start operation the 500kV Hiep Hoa transformer station yesterday November 16, 2011.
Up to now, this is the largest 500kV electricity transformer station to be put into operation in Vietnam so far.

Hiep Hoa Transformer Station was built in an area of 17 hectares in three communes of Hiep Hoa Dist, Bac Giang province with total investment capital of 1.221 trillion dong.

There were two electricity transformer machines of 500kV-1,800 MVA and the distribution equipment of 500kV, 220kV and 35kV.

At first, the Central Region Project Management board planned to build the three 220kV transmission lines there.

The operation of the 500kV Hiep Hoa Transformer Station will play important role in facilitating the connection of the regional hydropower plants with the national power grid. – Vietbiz24
