Joint venture to produce physic nut fuel

The joint project, worth US$175 million to $200 million, aims to plant up to 100,000 hectares of physic nut in Vietnam.

The crop will be cultivated in the central provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong and Phu Yen.

Jatro has analyzed soil samples for seedling selection.

Physic nut, or Jatropha, is a plant native to Mexico. Its seeds are considered excellent for bio-diesel production. The plant has a life span of 15 years, grows well in dry soil and can be harvested in 2 years.
