Japan Apparel Firms to Tap Vietnamese Market

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) will organize a meeting with the participation of Japanese apparel importers, wholesalers and Vietnamese producers on April 12 as part of efforts to boost exports to the Japanese market.

Japan is the third biggest buyer of Vietnamese apparels behind the U.S. and EU.

Vietnam’s apparel exports to Japan rose 15% from a year earlier to nearly US$1 billion last year. The figure is expected to hit US$1.2 billion this year.

Vietnam’s textile and garment sector gets numerous incentives from the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA) which took effect last October.
