Japan, ADB, U.K. Pledge US$3.7B in ODA for Vietnam Next Year
The Japanese government, the Asian Development Bank (ABD) and the U.K. committed a combined US$3.7 billion in official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam next year.
The figure was announced at the two-day Consultative Meeting (CG) Meeting 2009 which opened on December 3 in Hanoi.
Of the sum, the ADB pledged US$2 billion, Japan committed US$1.6 billion and the U.K. the rest.
The CG meeting attracted representatives from 34 countries and 10 international donors.
International donors pledged totally US$8.063 billion in ODA for Vietnam next year at the 2009 CG meeting, up US$3 billion over the committed amount of 2009.
