Interbank forex rate at lowest since Feb 11

The interbank forex rate on May 27 was announced at 20,653 dong per US dollar, the lowest level since February 11 when the rate had been adjusted up to 20,693 dong from 18,932 dong per US dollar, the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper reported.
Ceiling forex rate that commercial banks are allowed to trade decreased to 20,860 dong per US dollar. At Vietcombank, US dollar was purchased at around 20,460 dong per US dollar and sold at 20,610 dong per US dollar. The prices at Eximbank were 20,470 and 20,600 dong per US dollar, respectively.

Domestic gold on Friday declined 50,000 dong against the previous day afternoon. At 11am May 27, gold at HCM City’s big shops was traded at 37.53 million dong and 37.6 million dong per tael (buying-selling).

In the world market, gold advanced after falling $10 per ounce on May 26 night. The domestic gold today (May 27) was 200,000 dong lower than global price. – Vietbiz24
