Interbank average forex rate remains unchanged

The interbank average forex rate today April 25 remained unchanged from last weekend, at 20,708 dong/US dollar.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), the interbank average forex rate today April 25 is 20,708 dong/US dollar, remaining unchanged from the last weekend.

Accordingly, the ceiling forex rate at commercial banks today will be 20,915 dong/US dollar.

Today, commercial banks continue to sell US dollar below the ceiling price by 85-135 dong/US dollar and the difference between buying and selling prices is extended to 100-130 dong while it was 90 dong last week.

According to VnExpress newspaper on April 24, after the central bank applied the ceiling saving rate of US dollar at 3 percent per annum and increased the compulsory ratio in foreign currencies to 2 percent, more and more people and enterprises have been selling US dollar to banks to switch to make deposits in dong.

Within only one week, large commercial banks in HCM City have bought over $15 million while it was only $1-2 million in previous weeks. – SBV
