Indochina Airlines may have licence revoked

The first private airline in Viet Nam, Indochina Airlines, may have its business licence revoked.

The airline has until the end of the month to inform the proper authorities about whether or not the company has obtained an Air Operating Certificate (AOC).

The carrier, which began operating in 2008, suspended flights in November because of technical and financial problems. It has not resumed flights yet and had its schedule revoked on January 27 by the Civil Aviation Administration. It also has not reported to the administration about the company’s debts.

Director of Transportation under the Ministry of Transportation Than Van Thanh said the ministry was collecting relevant documents on local airline’s status to submit to the Prime Minister.
