India promotes tourism in Ho Chi Minh City
The Indian Tourism Office in Singapore and the Indian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City launched a tourism promotion programme on May 11.
The programme consists of some tours and incentives for Vietnamese tourists.
According to some travel agents, not many Vietnamese tourists book tours of India, mainly in the late months of the year. The reason is that they have to transit in Thailand and Singapore as there are no direct flights between Vietnam and India.
Lam Tu Khoi, a representative from Saigontourist Company said a week-long tour of India costs more than VND20 million per person. – VOV
